You could say that John Papaioannou liked our company so much, he decided to join it. Until this month, John, as Director of Release Services for Bentley Systems, was one of our valued enterprise customers. On March 1st he became our new Chief Executive Officer.
Bentley Systems first came to us in 2007, with the operational goals of reducing localization costs and decreasing time to market while at the same time maintaining quality. The company, with 3000 colleagues in over 45 countries and annual revenues surpassing $500 million, is a world leading engineering software publisher serving nearly 90% of the top 500 engineering design companies worldwide.
Since 2007 we have been meeting Bentley’s operational goals for cost reductions, time savings and even quality improvements by using our optimized machine translation process with post-editing for publication quality.
“We were surprised to see an improvement in quality by using MT,” a 2012 Bentley report concluded. “In blind tests with each major language, reviewers consistently evaluated the post-edited MT output as equal or superior to the traditional output.” (Click here to see the full text of a letter of recommendation.)
On March 1st, 2013, John joined LexWorks and Lexcelera (both of the Eurotexte Group) as our new Chief Executive Officer. John replaces founder Lori Thicke, who will now concentrate on marketing & innovation for the whole group. Click here to read more about the management team.
An 18-year veteran of the translation and localization industry, John Papaioannou led the team that was responsible for Bentley’s global translation needs. With a specialization in lean localization and process improvement, he created one of the leanest and most productive localization departments in the industry. John speaks English, French and Greek fluently and holds an MBA.
We are pleased to have John Papaioannou as our new CEO to lead us as we lead the industry in SMART machine translation.
